The event recorded in the working file
The primary note says The Water Is Wide is played in the moments preceding certain Host-Contemporaneous screenings. The performances are synchronized with Rolling Thunder Revue material inside little-attended screenings of Renaldo and Clara.
The note treats the film as already containing elements of bloat. MacLeod then adds a lengthy essay on counterfactual tenses in Dylan’s changing words and bogs the screening down further. Duration expands through programme, performance, essay and the administrative need to keep all versions present.

Why Host Contemporaneity matters
The Prisoner’s Cinema’s Host-Contemporaneous screenings are identified elsewhere as the first empirical evidence of Time Monkeying. Their rediscovery precedes the public Predictat document, which prevents the archive from using that document as an uncontested beginning.
A screening becomes Host-Contemporaneous when recovered or remembered material is experienced as occurring with the host rather than safely before them. The synchronized Rolling Thunder performance does not sit outside the event as historical illustration; it enters the event’s unstable present.

Claim and later expansion
The working file’s statement about the song and Fragments is preserved as the papers’ claim. The second bootleg volume is left incomplete in the manuscript, and the public entry does not repair that blank by inference.
A later model-assisted analysis adds water ontology, temporal reach-back and a stabilization protocol. Those concepts are not present in the primary note and are not presented here as established Realist doctrine. The direct material—the screening, synchronization and counterfactual essay—is already specific enough.
